You know you live in Southern California when you go to the beach in the middle of the night on grunion runs. sometimes during the summer, grunion, which are little fishes about five or six inches long, go out on the beach to spawn. me and my cousins from Boston went and it was amazing. there were hundreds of these fishes squirming around in the sand. we got some, took then home, fried them up and ate them. they didn't taste that good, but going to the beach late at night and seeing all of those fish was awesome.
oh yeah, and a week or so ago, we went to Zuma beach (by Malibu) and there were dolphins that swam pretty close to the shore
